The Department of Health Care Services has awarded Visionary Integration Professionals (VIP) a $3.7 million contract to provide the department with transition support services as it upgrades the California Medicaid Management Information System (CA-MMIS), according to state purchasing records.
The contract will be for VIP to support state staff in transitioning to the Design, Development and Implementation (DDI) phase of the CA-MMIS project. The DDI itself will be performed by Xerox State Healthcare, LLC.
The award follows a contract VIP received last September for $6.5 million which DHCS awarded to the Folsom-based company to help manage the beginning phase of the replacement CA-MMIS project, while the current contract is to assist in transition to the next phase.
CA-MMIS processes payments to medical providers for the 7.2 million Medi-Cal beneficiaries.
VIP was also recently awarded a $2.48 million contract perform systems engineering for the Case Management, Information and Payrolling System II (CMIPS II), which is replacing the original, out-of-date application to track In-Home Supportive Services programs for the elderly, blind and disabled.
