Earlier this year, Dennis Noone, Executive Editor for Industry Insider – California, sat down for an interview with Dustin Haisler, President of e.Republic (the parent company of Industry Insider – California). Relating to the state of California’s gov tech market, Dennis responded to the following questions:

  1. What were some of the highlights from 2023 and were there any notable changes?
  2. Now that we’ve kicked off a new year, what’s top of mind or on your radar in your state?
  3. 2024 is also an election year - how are you looking at approaching the changes that might happen to the state’s IT strategy and purchasing?
  4. Any predictions about what we might see before the year is out?

Here are a couple of Dennis’ predictions for 2024:

  • Broadband: The extension of the reach of broadband, and access to it, will play a big part in 2024. There will also be implications for equity.
  • Vendor Forums: These started during the pandemic and are a great opportunity for private sector to interact with agency heads and government representatives. We might see a rise in the occurrence of forums this year.
