Deloitte’s annual Fall Classic golf tournament, held this fall at Haggin Oaks, raised $148,500 to benefit six children’s charities in the Sacramento region. Since 2001, this tournament has raised in excess of $1.3 million to help local children and families in need.
The funds raised this year exceeded expectations and broke last year’s record for the Fall Classic, now in its 16th year. This year’s beneficiaries were: Sacramento Children’s Home, Children Now, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children, Foster Youth Education Fund, Latino Sports Outreach and Positive Coaching Alliance.
“As an organization committed to California and its communities, Deloitte is proud to work with so many generous co-sponsors, volunteers and donors to support the work of these important organizations,” said Jason Salzetti, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP. “These charities are on the front lines, every day, fighting for Sacramento’s children and delivering critical services that strengthen our young people, expand their opportunities, and enrich their lives.”
“Sacramento Children’s Home was thrilled to be a part of the Deloitte Fall Classic once again this year.” said Todd Koolakian, Director of Philanthropy for the Sacramento Children’s Home. “We are so appreciative of Deloitte and all of the generous sponsors and donors who help make this spectacular event possible. I’m always blown away by the generosity of the golfers and sponsor companies. Their support is so meaningful to SCH and the other children’s charities that benefit from this event. Funds raised by the Deloitte Fall Classic will go directly to the programs and services offered to our region’s most vulnerable children and families. On behalf of the children and families we serve, thank you Deloitte!”
Every year, Deloitte’s Sacramento-based professionals select several local charities as the beneficiaries of the Fall Classic. Their commitment to helping children is a natural extension of the work they do every day with clients to make an impact on the lives of children and families served by California’s state agencies.
The Fall Classic brings together Deloitte professionals, business partners and community leaders in support of many good causes. Deloitte covers the venue and administrative costs for the event so that 100 percent of the money raised from sponsorship fees, raffle ticket sales and live/silent auction proceeds can go directly to the charities. The event is part of Deloitte’s ongoing commitment to the Sacramento Community through board participation, Impact Day and other community involvement activities throughout the year.
