The Department of Technology announced that the CalCloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) offering (in cooperation with and managed by IBM) conforms with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) standards. Through an in-depth process during the past 18 months, approximately 325 required controls, processes and documentation have been implemented as required by FedRAMP. With this announcement, customers utilizing the CalCloud IaaS now have a foundation for their applications to achieve compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology security publications, as generally required by many federal programs, as well as by the California State Administrative Manual.
