Enterprise Account Executive - Public Sector Role with Genus Technologies

‍Who We are Looking For:



We are currently seeking a driven, self-starting Account Executive to sell into existing and new State and Local government accounts. The ideal candidate has experience with government practice in a software and/or services technology company. In this position, you will be a crucial member of our team and work directly with the Director of Sales and Practice Leaders to grow this business.

‍You may be an excellent fit for this position if:



  1. You have a successful track record selling technology solutions to key customer stakeholders.
  2. You are a team player and willing to work closely with sales, marketing, delivery, and support teams.
  3. You have a demonstrable history of expanding client engagements by presenting services to new departments and divisions.
  4. You have a proven ability to sell effectively through a varying sales cycle length.
  5. You can manage a sales pipeline, sales planning, and forecast accurately.
  6. You have exceptional time management and organizational skills.

‍Primary Duties and responsibilities



  1. Growing the Public Sector business.
  2. Establish a dialog with our existing public sector customers and build a consistent sales pipeline.
  3. Identify and prospect into new public sector agencies.
  4. Educate the public sector market on the value Genus brings to its customers.
  5. Understand public sector market trends and demonstrate thought leadership to customers.
  6. Partner with your internal Genus team to create solutions based on customer needs.
  7. Use Channel Partners to cooperatively target and expand customers.
  8. Educate yourself on Channel Partner offerings and how those solutions benefit your targeted public sector market.


    Essential Qualifications


  1. B.A. or B.S. degree
  2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in technical services and/or software sales.
  3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in selling to IT and Business Stakeholders within State and Local Government Agencies.
  4. A “can-do” attitude and the ability to tackle challenges in a positive and thoughtful way.
  5. Ability to travel.
