Fortinet Wins CyberSecurity Breakthrough Award for Security Awareness Training Program of the Year

Fortinet has been selected as the winner of the “Security Awareness Training Platform of the Year” award in the 6th annual CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards program conducted by CyberSecurity Breakthrough, a leading independent market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies, technologies, and products in the global information security market today.

This award recognizes Fortinet’s commitment to closing the cybersecurity skills gap and ongoing investment in training and certification through the Training Advancement Agenda (TAA) and Fortinet Training Institute. In September of 2021, Fortinet made a pledge to train 1 million people on cybersecurity across the next 5 years and through its initiatives is continuing to provide its award-winning curriculum globally.

Award-Winning Fortinet Training Institute Programs

This year, Fortinet was recognized with the “Security Awareness Training Platform of the Year” award for its Security Awareness and Training service designed by the Fortinet Training Institute. Fortinet’s service, developed by Fortinet security experts and aligned to NIST 800-16 and NIST 800-50 publications, is a SaaS-based offering that delivers timely and current awareness training on today's cybersecurity threats. It helps IT, security, and compliance leaders build a cyber-aware culture where employees recognize and avoid falling victim to cyberattacks.

Additionally, Fortinet's FortiGuard Labs provides insights and information to the service to ensure customers can provide the most recent and relevant training to their employees. For compliance-sensitive organizations, the service also helps satisfy regulatory or industry compliance training requirements. The service plays a critical role in helping organizations reduce the risk of a breach as well as reduce the number of support tickets driven by uninformed employees.

“It's becoming more and more imperative - both economically and socially - to make sure cyber security specialists are available on a large scale. By training future IT professionals with the skills needed to address the complexity and diversity of cyber threats, we ensure our safety as well as provide students with the ability to thrive in this increasingly digital society,” said James Johnson, managing director, CyberSecurity Breakthrough. “Fortinet's service works to reduce the likelihood of breaches due to human error, identify employee/departmental security gaps, foster a cyber-aware culture, and encourage vigilance both at work and at home. We are so thrilled to recognize their excellence for a fourth year - this time for ‘Security Awareness Training Platform of the Year.’”

Building Cyber Awareness in K-12 School Districts

Tied with the 2022 White House National Cyber Workforce and Education Summit, the customized service enables K-12 school districts to train their more than 8 million faculty and staff on cybersecurity skills and awareness that could prevent them from falling victim to threats, including social engineering attempts, helping to reduce their cyber risk.
