As of summer 2016, Orange County said it's managing at least 18 IT projects with a budget totaling $40 million (see slide below).
Major projects in progress include a $7.8 million upgrade to the county's financial, purchasing, payroll and human resources systems; a $2.5 million replacement of a legacy system that houses all the county's real estate assets; a $2.4 million enterprise IBM mainframe hardware and software upgrade; and a $13.7 million project to implement a countywide converged voice and data network.
Upcoming planned projects include a $4 million CRM/311 and land management system implementation, and a future RFP for an Integrated Jail Management System.
