The "agile pool" will grow from 11 companies to as many as 30; they all will be eligible to bid on future Request for Offers (RFOs). As part of the process, ownership of the pool is moving from the California Health and Human Services Agency (CHHS) to the California Department of Technology in order to allow a broader range of state agencies and departments to use the qualified developers' services.
As in the process formed the initial pool of vendors, companies have about one month to submit a functional prototype as part of the selection process. The state will be looking for vendors to demonstrate usage of open source technologies.
Here are key action dates (subject to change) in the RFI:
Vendors chosen for the refreshed and expanded pool will have to complete the California Multiple Award Schedule (CMAS) qualification process within 90 days, if they don't have CMAS already. Interested parties should also piggyback off the General Services Administration's Schedule 70 documentation.
