Here’s a look at five IT projects in the works at city and county governments you may have missed.

  1. On Nov. 15, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors approved an agreement with Aesynt Inc., to provide the Sacramento County Adult Jail maintenance and licensing for automated pharmacy systems, including installation of new computer equipment and upgraded software This agreement will cost more than $1 million, and will be from Dec. 1, 2016 through Nov. 30, 2022.

  2. The San Jose City Council plans to upgrade exit lane monitoring technology, such as cameras and analytic sensors, at the Mineta San Jose International Airport. The city has gone to bid for the project three separate times, with the latest bid opening occurring on Oct. 27. Staff is scheduled to further discuss the project on Nov. 29.

  3. In other San Jose news, the council adopted a resolution Nov. 17 authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and execute agreements with Oracle America, Inc., and AST Corporation for a service request and customer relationship management system. The agreements will cost a maximum of $546,000 for Oracle, $374,000 for AST, and both will run from Dec. 1, 2016 to Nov. 30, 2021.

  4. San Mateo County is looking to procure a new property assessment system for the Assessor’s office. The Board of Supervisors earlier this month approved a contract amendment with consulting firm Mikasoft Inc., which will assist the county in developing a Request for Proposals for procuring the new system.

  5. The Ventura County Fire Protection District received approval Nov. 8 from the Board of Supervisors to submit a grant application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for $805,000. According to meeting documents, the district intends to use the funding to acquire 250 portable two-way radios and accessories.
