Austin Company Aurigo in GovTech's Top 100 for 2022

The company provides a cloud-based capital program and project portfolio management software.

Five Texas companies were listed by Government Technology as among the Top 100 for 2022.

One of those is Austin-based Aurigo, which provides a cloud-based capital program and project portfolio management software for infrastructure and private owners.

According to its website, Aurigo was founded in 2003 with a mission to help public-sector agencies and facility owners plan, deliver and maintain their capital projects and assets safely and efficiently.

After helping customers across North America use its software to solve planning and portfolio management needs for nearly 10 years, Aurigo expanded its product suite to manage the full construction life cycle including critical processes related to safety, quality, maintenance and business operations.

Aurigo says its Masterworks Cloud software is the industry-leading solution for public and private agencies funding and maintaining large capital, infrastructure and facilities investments. The company has software development and support centers in Canada and India.

The company announced in May that Masterworks Cloud is now compliant with the World Wide Web Consortium's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.1.

WCAG is an internationally recognized set of standards for making web applications more accessible, primarily for people with disabilities.

According to the news release, this accreditation is highly sought after in the public sector since it is often used to support government compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which cover accessibility requirements for IT and communication.

Aurigo has over 300 customers across North America. The company says it works with cities, counties, states, utilities, light rail, transit authorities, airports and contractors over the past 15 years, helping them plan and deliver over $300 billion of capital projects.

The list was created in 2016 by GovTech to recognize companies focused on state and local government as their primary custom, which is why you will not see companies that view government as just one of many verticals. (Not being included on the list is also not an indication of a lack of success or fit in the gov tech market.)

Reviewing and curating the GovTech 100 begins in July and continues through the end of October. The list is finalized each November, and companies are notified of their selection in December. The public announcement takes place with the January release of Government Technology magazine.

The GovTech 100 is an editorial list that has several stakeholders inside and outside of e.Republic involved in its creation. e.Republic assembles a working group of our GovTech Biz editorial team, investors, former officials, outside data partners and other relevant market experts to curate and review the list each year.

Web traffic, procurements and demonstrable market traction are parts of the evaluation.
