Austin to Hire IT Supervising Senior for App Development, Maintenance

The city of Austin is hiring a full-time IT supervising senior responsible for application development and maintenance in its Development Services Department (DSD).

According to the posting, the chosen candidate will “lead a team of developers as they generate enhancements, create code fixes and provide support for AMANDA, DSD’s case management system.”

The listing calls for an applicant with a bachelor’s degree and two years of leadership or supervisory experience in a related field, with the option to substitute experience for up to four years of education.

The chosen applicant must have knowledge of management principles and practices, skills in efficient work organization, an understanding of DSD and the necessary city operations, the ability to administer a budget, skills in hardware and software evaluations, data compilation abilities and effective communications skills, among other requirements.

Preferred qualifications include leading an information resources development team, managing contractor and/or remote IT staffing resources, project management experience, experience training staff members and experience matching customer business requirements.

This posting, expiring Feb. 1, is open to external applicants and has a salary range of $41.70 to $54.21 per hour.
