Bexar County Budgets $75.4M for Large IT Projects

The budget includes at least nine new IT projects with budgets of at least $1 million, as well as a $36 million budget for its IT Department.

According to Bexar County’s adopted 2023-2024 budget, the county has allocated $75.4 million for large IT-related projects and $36 million for its IT Department.

Home to the city of San Antonio, Bexar County has an estimated population of 2.1 million residents and spans 1,240 square miles.

The budget includes at least nine new IT projects with budgets of at least $1 million, listed here from highest to lowest capital budget:
  • Bexar County Integrated Justice System — $37 million
  • Information System Enhancements — $8.6 million
  • Human Capital Management and Payroll System Replacement — $8 million
  • Digital Evidence Management System Replacement — $1.5 million with $5 million increase
  • Law Enforcement Records Management System — $4.5 million
  • Voice System Replacement — $3.3 million
  • Facilities Enterprise Asset Management System — $2.2 million
  • Enterprise County Integrated Justice System Enhancements — $2 million
  • Data Center Storage Expansion — $1.8 million
