Boerne Independent School District (Boerne ISD) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to establish a contract for a cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) software for its Child Nutrition Department.
According to the RFP, Boerne ISD serves more than 11,000 students at eight elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools and an alternative campus, and employs more than 1,600 faculty and staff.
The requested solution must be hosted externally, 100 percent browser based, compatible with Skyward Student Information and Skyward Finance, PCI compliant, modular, and provide log cloud-based backups and granular security permissions.
The following cloud-based modules are required: POS, online free and reduced application processing, and online lunch account deposit processing. All requested modules must reference the same integrated database and be updated in real time.
The POS system requirements include terminals that run completely in-browser and can operate in the event of an interrupted Internet connection, data cache within browser, automatic ID entry detection, a customizable interface, eligibility-based pricing, touchscreen capabilities, smart search functionality, transaction recall and more.
The district also requests built-in exports in Excel, CSV, Word, Text and PDF formats.
More detailed information about RFP No. 23-009, including all submission requirements and requests, can be found online. Question submissions are due Feb. 6. The deadline for proposals is 10 a.m. March 5. Eddie Ashley is the point of contact for this RFP.
