Harris County voters will decide in November whether to approve a bond package totaling $1.2 billion, with portions going to public safety.
This potentially includes facilities, courtrooms, technology and improved data systems for court management and crime prevention.
Voters will see three bond propositions on the ballot.
Proposition A will provide up to $100 million for public safety, which is where technology is mentioned.
Proposition B includes up to $900 million for transportation, and Proposition C includes up to $200 million for parks and trails.
If all are approved, at least $220 million would be spent in each of the county’s four precincts, while the $100 million in public safety investments would be countywide.
This week, the county began a series of 24 community engagement meetings to share information and gather input and will continue through Oct. 20.
