CIOJessica Capraro gave the updates during the commission’s bimonthly meeting in Houston.
TCOLE’s new website should be launched in September with the “look and feel of a more modern website” and simplified navigation.
Next, the agency’s network is expected to be fully migrated to the cloud by Nov. 30, which hasn't been without a few hiccups. Capraro shared that after a one-day outage in July, the agency contracted a consultant to assist with preventing any downtime during final transformation stages.
Unified login, a “critical project” being built in-house, will go into effect in January. This will cover all TCOLE sites requiring login, simplify user account creation and simplify password resets, Capraro told commission members.
The agency is responsible for licensing and certifying peace officers, county jailers, telecommunicators and school marshals across the state.
