The city of Corpus Christi’s proposed $1.3 billion budget for Fiscal Year 2025–26 includes more than $40 million in technology-related funding across operating funds, special revenue funds and capital projects.
The largest portion, $21.5 million, is allocated to the city’s Information Technology Fund, which supports IT security, infrastructure and network services, enterprise applications, public safety IT, GIS, project management and end user support.
Within the IT Fund, $7 million is proposed for enterprise applications, $6 million for infrastructure and network services, $2.3 million for security and compliance, $2 million for IT administration, $1.4 million for public safety services, $1.4 million for end user support, $1.4 million for GIS, and $725,000 for IT project management.
Additional operating and special revenue allocations include $9 million for the MetroCom Fund and $159,000 for the Municipal Court Technology Fund.
The police department’s proposed grant appropriations include $149,000 for next-gen 911 emergency communications upgrades, $106,000 for body-worn cameras and $40,000 for in-car video systems.
In the three-year capital plan, the budget proposes $5.4 million for security upgrades at the O.N. Stevens Water Treatment Plant and $3 million for wastewater SCADA instrumentation and electrical improvements.
The city also plans to spend $1.3 million on electrical equipment and switchboard replacements for Selena Auditorium.
