CPS Energy Seeks Distributed Energy Resource Management System

The system must have the ability to collect data continuously, as well as real-time load monitoring, remote device control, interoperability with other systems and remote access.

CPS Energy of San Antonio has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for the design, development and installation of a distributed energy resource management system (DERMS).

According to the RFP, “CPS Energy is seeking more real-time control and management of Distributed Energy Resource (DER) assets with improved integration, utilization of real-time data and the ability to perform advanced functions related to Volt/VAR optimization, renewable smoothing, ancillary services and transactive energy exchanges.”

The DERMS must have the ability to collect data from DERs continuously, real-time load monitoring, remote device control, interoperability with other systems and remote access capabilities.

The chosen vendor will provide systems integration services for the new DERMS with existing CPS systems.
