The city of Dallas has begun deploying MixMode’s AI cybersecurity platform in conjunction with its Netsync Network Solutions contract to secure its network, according to a news release.

MixMode is a cybersecurity solutions company offering an AI platform with real-time threat monitoring, anomaly detection and behavioral analysis, according to the release. The company is based in Santa Barbara, Calif.

It offers:

  • Real-time threat detection and response
  • Constant city IT environment monitoring
  • Real-time advanced threat detection across city networks

“The MixMode Platform is the only cybersecurity solution built on third-wave AI for real-time threat detection and response at scale and is crucial to the city’s ability to defend against advanced cyber attacks,” according to the company. “The platform’s ability to adapt and learn from evolving threats ensures a dynamic defense system that can stay ahead of sophisticated attacks.”

Early last May, Dallas suffered a data breach and later set aside nearly $8.6 million to pay vendors for hardware, software, incident response and consulting services in response to the ransomware attack. In November, the city announced a four-year, $2.2 million agreement with Netsync.

A Dallas Morning News article reporting on that spending also referenced two unnamed detection systems that the city approved in April. Those systems were listed as $873,000 and $3.9 million.
