Dallas Company Kofile in GovTech’s Top 100 for 2022

Five Texas companies were listed by Government Technology as among the top 100 gov tech companies for 2022.

One of those five is Kofile of Dallas, a provider of information management and access system solutions for government agencies in the U.S. According to its website, Kofile was launched in 2010 to bring “document digitization, restoration, preservation and storage to modernize local government.”

GovOS, a provider of digital transformation solutions for local governments that’s owned by Kofile, announced in August the opening of its new headquarters in Austin. GovOS provides software solutions that help local governments with digital transformation, according to the company’s website.

“GovOS is establishing its base of operations in the capital city of Texas to be closer to a rich tech talent pool, software industry leaders and to ensure the company has the right environment to fulfill its aggressive growth goals over the next five years,” a news release states.

The list was created in 2016 by GovTech to recognize companies focused on state and local government as their primary customers, which is why you will not see companies that view government as just one of many verticals. (Not being included on the list is also not an indication of a lack of success or fit in the gov tech market.)

Reviewing and curating the GovTech 100 begins in July and continues through the end of October. The list is finalized each November, and companies are notified of their selection in December. The public announcement is made in the January edition of Government Technology magazine.

The GovTech 100 is an editorial list that has several stakeholders inside and outside of e.Republic* involved in its creation. e.Republic assembles a working group from the GovTech Biz editorial team, investors, former officials, outside data partners and other relevant market experts to curate and review the list each year.

Web traffic, procurements and demonstrable market traction are parts of the evaluation.
