This year, the county will use these funds to address aspects of last year’s stark Gartner study, which listed multiple system failures, funding gaps and a lack of leadership.
The county will also purchase hardware and contracts out of this fund, according to its Fiscal Year 2025 budget documents.
The Office of Information Technology, under a separate budget line, will have $53.1 million.
Planned technology spending above $1 million includes:
- $10.4 million in the capital budget for computer hardware
- $6.1 million for telephones and $1.2 million for cellular phones
- $5.1 million for professional fees
- $5.8 million for a data processing contract
