The Dallas Independent School District (Dallas ISD) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for an Internet-based unified student application/registration platform.
According to the district’s website, Dallas ISD has 230 schools, about 154,000 students and more than 22,000 staff members.
The requested registration platform is to be used by early childhood — grade 12 students, families and staff for registration and school choice applications.
At a minimum, the platform should provide an online school/program application process with two-way communication between staff and families, execute different-criteria lotteries and handle the applications of waitlisted students, allow new and returning students to register, render all guardian pages and related registration forms in English and Spanish, provide a dashboard for school administrators to review and allow the upload of required student documents.
School staff must have the ability to approve, hold or reject choice school applications and registrations, the ability to communicate with guardian contacts through multiple formats and the ability to create comprehensive reports of processes and application/registration statuses.
Proposers must have a minimum of five years of experience in education with a history of providing similar services to institutions of at least 50,000 students, at least three of which must have been successfully completed within the last two years.
Finalists will be required to demonstrate all proposed software in an on-site demonstration, which are tentatively scheduled for Jan. 11 and 12.
