Dallas Independent School District has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for a real-time electronic medical record system.
The second-largest school district in Texas, Dallas ISD serves about 153,681 students in 230 schools, according to the district's website.
According to the RFP, the district is offering a three-year contract with two successive one-year extensions dependent on its needs to a proposer who “will provide a browser-enabled user interface for access via the districtwide area network, and/or via the Internet.”
Proposed systems must be capable of storing health appraisal detail information, class rosters with required screening information, growth charts, medication information, clinic logs, health conditions, Medicaid status and insurance information, changes to which must be reflected in the system instantaneously.
District Health Services and staff must be able to filter student information by school, school group, division, feeder pattern, date of birth, ZIP code, name and/or identification number.
The system must also be configured with current state immunization requirements and capable of interfacing with the state immunization database.
The chosen vendor will be expected to provide implementation support and training that is “tailored specifically to the needs of school-based staff, providers and administrative staff.”
