The Dallas Independent School District (Dallas ISD) has requested a web-based electronic medical records (EMR) system for its Mental Health Services Department.
The second-largest school district in Texas, Dallas ISD serves approximately 140,000 students in 240 schools, according to the district’s website.
According to a request for proposals (RFP), the district is offering a three-year contract with two successive one-year extensions dependent on its needs to a proposer who will provide a browser-enabled user interface that is “configurable to enable documentation of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) compliant information on students receiving mental health services.”
Proposed systems must be capable of interfacing with Dallas ISD’s existing EMR for data integration, managing client appointment scheduling, electronic document signing, prescription management and e-prescribing.
The district has also requested telehealth capabilities, insurance information storage, autosave functionality, an all-system search function, internal workflow creation, customizable reports and more.
The chosen vendor will be expected to provide implementation support and training that is “tailored specifically to the needs of school-based staff, providers and administrative staff.”
