Dallas Opens Bidding for 5-Year COTS Contract

The city estimates its total spending on software, maintenance and services over the next five years to be approximately $79 million.

The city of Dallas is looking to establish a five-year service contract for various enterprise commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software products in support of existing business operations.

According to a request for competitive sealed proposals (RFCSP), the city’s Information and Technology Services Department requires software maintenance, support, training, implementation and other related services that will both allow the city to continue using its existing software and support the acquisition of new products.

Current software solutions used by city departments support customer relationship management, business process management, infrastructure monitoring, graphic design, digital communications, business intelligence, reporting, system operations and project management efforts.

The city has spent a total of about $64 million on software, maintenance and services in the past five years. The city estimates its spending over the next five years to increase to more than $79 million.
