Deadline Coming for Nominations for the 2022 Texas IT Academy Awards

Texas tech leaders will be honored for outstanding work next month, and there’s still time to vote — not much, though, since ballots are due by midnight Friday.

The 2022 Texas IT Leadership Awards will be presented Nov. 14 at the Texas IT Leadership Forum at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Austin. Guest speakers will include Amanda Crawford, Texas’ state chief information officer.

Presented by Government Technology,* the awards program will highlight those in Texas government organizations for their outstanding contributions, best practices and works of distinction. Awards will be presented in the following categories:

The IT Leadership Award, which recognizes the person in your organization who demonstrated exceptional leadership, customer service and public stewardship through:
  • Leading a team.
  • Serving the organization.
  • Implementing innovative solutions.
  • Serving constituents.
(Agencies or departments may select up to two people.)

Texas Public CIO of the Year, which recognizes the person who demonstrates vision and leadership by:
  • Demonstrating outstanding leadership.
  • Developing future IT leaders.
  • Developing innovative strategies to help the organization achieve its goals.
  • Promoting active collaboration among government organizations.

Texas Public CTO of the Year, which recognizes the person who demonstrates vision and leadership by:
  • Demonstrating outstanding leadership.
  • Advancing technical skills within the organization.
  • Developing innovative technology solutions to help the organization achieve its goals.
  • Promoting mutually beneficial relationships in the public and private sectors.
