TxDMV to Hire a Data Architect

The position is eligible for remote work within the state of Texas and has a monthly salary range of $8,850 to $9,166.

The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is hiring a data architect.

According to the job posting, the data architect “Performs highly complex (senior-level) data analysis and architecture work … implements and manag[es] database systems and data warehouses … [and] designs strategies and setting standards for operations, programming, and security.”

Responsibilities listed in the posting include determining database requirements, obtaining data model requirements, developing physical databases, developing data structures for data warehouses, providing guidelines on creating data models and more.

The listing calls for an applicant who has graduated from an accredited four-year college or university “with major coursework in computer information systems, computer science, management information systems, or a related field plus five (5) years’ experience in enterprise data architecture and/or information architecture work, two (2) years of which were in a lead or supervisory capacity.”

Candidates should also have at least five years of experience in relational modeling and design, DB2, SQL Server, stored procedure development, building data pipelines and ETL solutions, data engineering for business intelligence and business analytics, designing Master Data Management and data quality solutions, developing reports and dashboards and leading stakeholder engagements.
