Departments Seek Proposals for Detention Center, Tracking Tech

The plans by this South Texas city’s police and courts include several improvements via technology for large municipalities.

The police and courts in a key South Texas city are seeking vendor proposals for a new facility and tracking system that will include a variety of technology solutions.

The Police Department and courts in San Antonio are seeking an inmate tracking solution that will work for a large municipality. The city plans an integrated temporary adult Arrestee Processing Center and court magistration system. According to the request for proposals, vendors must have a proven record of having implemented such a system.

The vendor must be qualified to deliver a system that is compliant with Criminal Justice Information Services standards, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, and personal identifiable information as described and regulated in the Texas Statutes Business and Commerce Codes — Title 11.

Applicable product categories include:
  • 20911 — Application software (not otherwise classified) microcomputer
  • 92029 — Facilities management services, computer
  • 68059 — Identify tracking devices
  • 68071 — Inmate tracking devices, electronic, wrist and leg bands, etc.
  • 20857 — Law enforcement software, microcomputer

Proposals are due by 2 p.m. Sept. 9.
