He has contributed to and led efforts for technical marketing, advocacy for emerging solutions, presales solution engineering, post-sales delivery and technical vendor partner alignment.

Additionally, it is an open core company that develops software for the software development life cycle with 30 million estimated registered users and more than 1 million active license users, and it has a community of more than 2,500 contributors.
Downing most recently worked as a cloud architect at Sterling. He previously worked as a network engineer at Vectrus and as a senior network engineer at the Lower Colorado River Authority. He has also held positions as a network engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton and in the Marine Corps.
He attained a Bachelor of Science in information technology from Arizona State University.
