DIR Announces Plans to Contract Public Cloud Manager

DIR’s current cloud manager is responsible for public cloud provider deployments through the agency’s Data Center Services program.

The Department of Information Resources (DIR) has issued a pre-solicitation notice of its intent to release a request for offers (RFO) for a public cloud manager.

According to the notice, DIR’s current cloud manager is responsible for public cloud provider deployments through the agency’s Data Center Services (DCS) program, offering services that include “solutioning, provisioning, monitoring and managing public cloud deployed workloads while integrating into the DCS multi-supplier model and maintaining state and federal legal and regulatory compliance.”

Services DIR is considering in its forthcoming request include:
  • Provisioning, monitoring and management of public cloud services
  • Provision of flexible services for infrastructure as a service (IaaS), software as a service (SaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS)
  • Integrating services into DIR’s DCS program
  • Marketing services to DIR customers
  • Providing technology evolution and road map planning for the services and solutions throughout the contract term
