DIR to Release Offer Request for Education IT Products and Services

The state IT department plans to issue a request for offers for various hardware and software purchases on March 4.

The Department of Information Resources (DIR) has issued a pre-solicitation notice of its intent to release a request for offers (RFO) for education IT products and services.

Hardware items listed in the notice include classroom interactive tools, interactive boards, touchscreens, response systems, active learning kits, mobile/tablet devices, technology-based laboratory products and graphing calculators.

Software or software as a service listed include mobile device applications, online and client-based curriculum solutions, student information systems, learning management systems and calculator software applications.

DIR also listed artificial intelligence-enhanced products for education, blended learning tools and accessibility solution-based technology hardware and software learning products in the notice.

The successful respondent(s) to the forthcoming RFO will be contracted to provide cost-effective IT resources to state agencies, local governments and other customers under DIR’s Cooperative Contracts program.

The pre-solicitation is available on Texas SmartBuy. DIR will host an online briefing on the upcoming RFO on Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. It expects to publish the RFO on March 4. Thuvan Huynh is the point of contact for this pre-solicitation notice.
