DPS Is Researching Identity Management Solutions

The Department of Public Safety is looking for a unified solution to combat AI deepfakes and social engineering.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is conducting market research for solutions designed to combat deepfake AI and social engineering threats under a single agency identity portal.

According to the agency’s request for information (RFI), DPS is in need of an identity portal that “will consolidate identity management into a modern, secure and privacy-respecting platform that leverages passwordless authentication, blockchain-based identity wallets, full lifecycle governance, and federated integrations.”

The intended solution will be integrated into the agency’s existing environment, including legacy systems and external connections, as a unified identity repository.

Technical and functional requirements include authentication assurance, attribute-based access controls, identity governance, an identity wallet and federation/integration.

More detailed information about RFI No. ITD202504191753, including all minimum requirements and requested services, can be found online. The deadline for question submissions is June 10. The due date for responses is 5 p.m. July 7. Vittorio Garcia is the point of contact for this RFI.
