The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has issued a pre-solicitation notice for a single contractor to provide a newborn screening (NBS) laboratory information management system (LIMS).

According to the notice, DSHS requires “laboratory equipment, testing reagents, consumables, an NBS Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and a remote data system for ordering, processing, testing, reporting and follow-up for specimens collected on babies born in Texas.”

Although HB1 does not specifically list an NBS LIMS, the department’s capital budget does include $3.81 million for “Miscellaneous Lab Equipment.”

More information about Pre-HHS0014584 can be found online. This pre-solicitation expires on May 19. Bianca Hernandez is the point of contact.
