The city of Georgetown is seeking consultants capable of conducting needs assessments for an electric automated meter infrastructure (AMI) solution and for meter data management (MDM) software — the results of which could shape future procurements.

The chosen consultant must develop a list of requirements for a new electric AMI solution based on industry standards. The same must be done for the requested MDM software.

The city has already determined the electric AMI solution must be scalable, contain advanced safety features and be capable of two-way communication and light control.

Stakeholder needs for both solutions must be identified, including but not limited to billing, customer care and information technology. The provided needs assessments may be used to develop future requests for proposals (RFPs).

Multiple awards for the performance of one or both needs assessments may be considered by the city.

More detailed information about RFP No. 202449, including all submission requirements and requests, can be found online. A non-mandatory pre-proposal conference will be held via teleconference at 10 a.m. Friday. Questions must be submitted via email to the point of contact, James Monk, by 5 p.m. Aug. 27. The deadline for submissions is 2 p.m. Sept. 4.
