The Houston City Council on Jan. 21 approved several items involving technology procurement, enterprise systems and airport infrastructure, reflecting a continued focus on IT modernization and digital services across departments.
A $435,000 contract was awarded to Precision Task Group Inc. for software licenses, maintenance and support services as part of the city’s Enterprise Service Management System Enhancements Project. The contract, facilitated through the Texas Department of Information Resources, will support technology upgrades on behalf of multiple departments.
In a separate item, the council allocated $533,000 from the Equipment Acquisition Consolidated Fund to refresh its on-premises SAP system.
At George Bush Intercontinental Airport, a five-year, $655,000 contract was approved with Honeywell International Inc. to provide services and modifications for the Ground-Based Augmentation System. The system enhances navigation precision during aircraft landings and is part of the city’s ongoing investment in aviation technology.
The city also approved a $2.6 million settlement with EPI-USE America Inc., resolving a lawsuit tied to a previous engagement. The agreement, paid through the Property and Casualty Fund, closes out litigation related to SAP services, although the agenda does not specify the nature of the dispute.
