Industry Insider — Texas readers will see an updated look and feel this coming Tuesday, complete with updated accessibility tools and usability features.

The mission is the same: build the Texas government technology community while keeping industry partners and government IT leaders informed about the people, deals, legislation and trends driving the state’s IT market.

The website has been re-organized to make it easier to read, and in furtherance of Industry Insider — Texas’ mission to be inclusive of all our government technology community, we’ve built in new accessibility features. As an example, those with visual impairments can now access the contents section with help from a new tool.

With the UserWay tool comes Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines conformity. It is also used by large corporations and governments to make their content more accessible.

“We are pleased to provide an improved user experience with our new website accessibility features, so all members can access our job-critical content,” said Mike Driessen, publisher of Industry Insider and vice president of subscription services for e.Republic.* “We encourage the gov tech community to embrace website accessibility best practices.”

Many states and the federal government have ADA requirements for online accessibility tools that allow those with impairments to transact government business online. These tools include magnifiers, audio readers and other accommodations to help users easily access and navigate websites.

As always, look for the orange “Insider” logo for premium content. This content requires a subscription as does the Opportunities and Insider Tools, linked at the menu. To become a subscriber, contact member services.
