Lamar University has released a request for proposals (RFP) for a syllabus management platform that will enable the institution to create, manage and publish course syllabi through a standardized, digital system.
Located in Beaumont, Lamar University is part of the Texas State University System and serves more than 17,000 students across undergraduate and graduate programs.
According to the RFP, the platform must integrate with the university’s Canvas learning management system and Banner student information system and allow users to input and maintain syllabi content using dynamic templates. The goal is to centralize syllabus access for faculty, students and administrators, while ensuring consistency, accessibility and compliance.
The platform must support version history, role-based access, archiving and public-facing syllabus access. It must also meet Section 508 and WCAG 1.0 and 2.0AA accessibility standards, support multilanguage interfaces and include tools for formatting control and editing restrictions.
Lamar expects the system to serve faculty and staff across multiple colleges and departments, enabling both administrative oversight and flexible course-level input. The university also requires implementation support, hosting information and service-level agreement details as part of each proposal.
All vendor questions must be submitted by Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. Proposals are due by 2 p.m. Dec. 11.
More information is available on Electronic State Business Daily under RFP No. 734-10222025-CH. The point of contact for the solicitation is Calli Hardy.
