Lone Star College (LSC) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) from vendors capable of providing a student engagement tool supported by artificial intelligence as a software as a service (SaaS).

According to the request, the tool must provide “real-time feedback based on customizable rubrics from faculty including real-time evaluations of vocabulary, grammar, spelling, punctuation, style, tone, readability and offer recommendations for improvement.”

The requested tool is intended to improve the critical thinking and writing skills of students through feedback rather than providing automatic corrections.

Additional capabilities LSC has requested include plagiarism detection, auto-grading options, compatibility with the college’s learning management system, performance tracking, style insights, usage analytics, interactive content, gamification elements, adaptive learning, mobile accessibility and interactive resources.

Technical requirements listed in the RFP include cross-platform compatibility, tool integration capabilities, support for multiple languages and implementation support.

More detailed information about RFP No. LSC01-0000939, including all submission requirements and requests, can be found online.
