Northwest ISD Seeks Fiber Expansion Between Campuses

The chosen service provider will be responsible for the construction and installation of aerial and underground fiber-optic cables between the district’s locations.

The Northwest Independent School District (Northwest ISD) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for fiber expansion.

According to the Northwest ISD website, the district has more than 30,000 students across 34 campuses in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

The chosen service provider will be responsible for the construction and installation of aerial and underground fiber-optic cables between the district’s locations while conforming to the National Electric code, the Building Code and all applicable local codes and ordinances.

All materials, supplies, machinery, equipment, tools, superintendence, labor, services, insurance, water, fuel, transportation and other facilities are to be provided by the contractor.

More detailed information about RFP No. 024-029-02-022, including all minimum requirements and requested services, can be found online. An online pre-solicitation meeting will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. The deadline for question submissions is 2 p.m. Feb. 27. The due date for proposals is 2 p.m. March 20.
