Pflugerville Seeks Consultant for Broadband Needs Assessment

The chosen contractor will be responsible for developing a comprehensive master plan to improve broadband services in the city before managing a future solicitation for the plan’s completion.

The city of Pflugerville has issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) from consulting firms capable of evaluating the city’s broadband needs.

The chosen contractor will first be required to assess the city’s current broadband-related assets using GIS data, evaluate coverage by existing providers, identify discrepancies with reported coverages, develop a community engagement plan, identify connectivity gaps and report on future needs.

The consultant will then be expected to complete five tasks outlined in the RFQ:
  • Present options to improve fiber and broadband connectivity
  • Develop a comprehensive master plan
  • Evaluate opportunities for public-private partnerships
  • Build a consensus on the master plan via review sessions
  • Develop and manage a request for expressions of interest development and advising
