Plainview Promotes David Ellis to IT Director

Ellis succeeds Isauro Gutierrez, who held the role for 12 years.

The city of Plainview has promoted longtime employee David Ellis to serve as its new director of information technology.

Ellis’ appointment was made official on Tuesday after receiving unanimous approval from City Council.

Ellis has worked for the city since 2016, serving most recently as an IT specialist. In that role, he supported internal systems and network operations that underpin municipal services. He succeeds Isauro Gutierrez, who held the role for 12 years.

Ellis holds an associate degree in network and system administration from DeVry University.
