Plano Utility Services to Improve Customer Information System

The city is seeking three cloud-based systems to improve its utility services provided to approximately 87,000 customers.

The city of Plano has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for a web-enabled utility billing customer information system (CIS), complete with a customer self-service portal (CSS) and mobile workforce management system (MWM).

The city’s Customer and Utility Services division currently uses Utiligy 360, a JD Edwards enterprise resource planning module, to generate monthly bills and handle the information of 87,000 customers.

The vendor will need to address major items including:
  • CIS software modules
  • CSS solution
  • MWM solution
  • Software maintenance and support
  • Hosted environment architecture

The CIS, CSS and MWM must be cloud-based or hosted, PCI compliant and meet current web content accessibility guidelines.

The chosen vendor will be responsible for data migration from Utiligy.
