The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District (PSJA ISD) is soliciting proposals for fully managed cybersecurity services, including modernization of its cyber infrastructure.
The district is seeking vendors to deliver an enterprise-scale solution across thousands of endpoint devices and supporting network infrastructure as part of the Federal Communications Commission’s three-year Schools and Libraries Cybersecurity Pilot Program.
The effort is designed to modernize PSJA’s security posture and ensure continuous protection of its digital environment. Real-time monitoring, reporting and policy enforcement will be essential components of the offering.
According to the district’s request for proposals (RFP), the initiative centers on patch management, identity protection and network access controls. The selected vendor will be responsible for implementing solutions that integrate with the Microsoft SCCM and Intune platforms to serve more than 28,000 Windows-based devices.
The project also includes deployment of firewall-as-a-service capabilities and application-level protections for on-premise and cloud environments. The district also plans to implement Cisco’s Identity Services Engine and Catalyst Center to strengthen identity-based access control across its network.
Awarded vendors must provide 24/7 support, compliance documentation, security updates and training throughout the project life cycle. Integration with existing infrastructure is required, and proposals will be evaluated on a per-package basis, with vendors permitted to bid on individual components or the full solution.
More detailed information about RFP No. CBR420250734, including all submission requirements and requests, can be found on Industry Navigator*. Questions are due at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 6. Proposals must be submitted electronically by 8 a.m. Aug. 20 via the district's Purchasing Department website. Ralph Mendez is the point of contact for this solicitation.
The Houston Public Library is also looking to procure cybersecurity services through the Schools and Libraries Cybersecurity Pilot Program. Responses to the library's solicitation are due Aug. 8.
