The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is surveying the market for standards and solutions that will ensure the agency’s compliance with Executive Orders GA-47 and GA-48.

Both orders, issued by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott in November 2024, relate to the protection of critical infrastructure and sensitive information from foreign threats via security enhancements to state systems.

The agency’s request for information (RFI) lists the following as areas requiring feedback:
  • Detection and prevention of harassment by foreign adversaries
  • Hardening state systems against foreign threats
  • Personnel security compliance and vetting procedures
  • Compliance and reporting mechanisms
System and tool recommendations requested include monitoring tools, monitoring solutions and security software.
