The city of San Antonio is surveying the market for a solution that can collect visitor foot traffic data in public attractions for marketing and forecasting purposes on a recurring basis.

According to a request for information (RFI), the city’s goal is to “produce reporting that reflects visitor counts and other data to be used for reporting, forecasting, trending, and other analytical uses.”

City locations to be tracked include parks, trails, facilities, and events with or without distinct entry points. In addition to foot traffic data, the city also hopes to collect demographic information.

The desired solution would also allow the city to market to visitors near tracked locations.

Although the city has collected visitor data through various sourcing methods in the past, the desired solution would be the first of its kind to be used in San Antonio.

More detailed information about RFI No. 6100018514, including all minimum requirements and requested services, can be found online. Questions must be submitted via email to the point of contact, Victor R. Costilla, by 4 p.m. Friday. Responses to this RFI are due by 11 a.m. Nov. 13.
