Tarrant County has launched a new jury management system and redesigned juror summons as part of an effort to modernize how residents respond to jury duty and receive service updates.
The county said the new system took effect March 24 and is paired with a new postcard-format summons that includes a QR code linking prospective jurors to Juror Access, the county’s updated online portal. Through that portal, residents can respond to summonses, review status information and manage jury service online.
County officials said the change replaces a jury management platform that had been in use for nearly 20 years and is intended to improve accessibility and communication.
Under the new setup, jurors will receive updates primarily by email and can choose to opt into text notifications. The county also said status updates will be available through Juror Access as soon as the same day, or by the next business day.
According to Commissioners Court documents, Tarrant County’s jury management upgrade was funded at an estimated $163,000, with $139,000 spent in FY 2025 under the county’s agreement with Tyler Technologies.
Tarrant County said official jury summonses will continue to be delivered by mail, though the format has shifted from a four-part mailer to a postcard. Residents who are unable to respond online can still report in person on the date and time listed on their summons.
