Texas A&M Forest Service Seeks Wildfire Prevention Planning Tool

The Texas A&M Forest Service has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for an online wildfire community hazard mitigation planning tool.

The requested tool’s purpose is to assist in collaboration among state, federal and local entities in creating wildfire mitigation plans.

The chosen vendor will develop a web software application that is compatible with the Texas Wildfire Risk Assessment Portal (TxWRAP), optimized for mobile devices and all browsers, compliant with the Texas A&M AgriLife website guidelines and enables the sharing and integration of data and mapping features by external applications.

The application’s main component, the focus area manager, must help identify focus areas and their boundaries for stakeholders while generating relevant statistics for each area.

Additional application components requested by the Forest Service include a strategies manager, a collaborative engagement tool, a plan writer, an implementation manager and user-friendly dashboards.
