The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is seeking a solution to manage law enforcement applicant background checks and tracking.

A request for offers (RFO) due Sept. 24 outlines the need for a commercial, off-the-shelf, cloud-based database platform that will be used by the Game Warden Training Center staff and law enforcement senior staff. It must also have an end-user interface for applicant access.

Features will include, among others:
  • Conforming to state law and other regulations
  • Ability to run criminal background reports
  • Ability to run social media background reports
  • Candidate tracking
  • Chain of command personalization
There are about 550 game wardens on patrol across Texas, enforcing conservation law, providing search and rescue, ensuring marine safety and delivering outdoor education.

The selected vendor must be TxRAMP certified or provisionally certified, have experience with this type of platform and follow all RFO submission guidelines. The RFO doesn’t guarantee a cost or volume, and the contract starts in October.
