Texas Southern University Requests New Billing Platform

The university is seeking a system that supports global, real-time payment processing features, including multicurrency support, localized payment options, reporting tools and advanced payment plan management.

Texas Southern University (TSU) is searching for a commerce and billing platform capable of managing campuswide bill payments, installment plans and transactions.

According to the university’s request for proposals (RFP), TSU enrolls approximately 8,000 students. TSU projects that number to increase to 15,000 by fall 2030.

The requested platform must be comprehensive, cloud-based, scalable, centralized, secure, user-friendly and integrable with existing student information systems.

The system must also support global, real-time payment processing features, including multicurrency support, localized payment options, reporting tools and advanced payment plan management.

TSU has requested the solution provide departmental storefronts, a secure payment portal, online bill payment plan management and cashiering capabilities.

Technical requirements include role-based access control, real-time currency conversion, mobile optimization, audit trails, customizable branding and prebuilt integrations with TSU’s current enterprise resource planning system, Banner.

The chosen vendor must provide training and ongoing support/maintenance for the solution.
