Texas Southern University (TSU) is requesting information from enterprise resource planning (ERP) vendors as part of its initiative to modernize and integrate its enterprise systems across campus functions.

The university’s request for information (RFI) outlines a vision for a next-generation ERP solution that enhances academic and business operations while supporting institutional goals around growth, efficiency and innovation. TSU is specifically interested in solutions that emphasize automation, predictive analytics, real-time reporting and personalized student experiences.

According to the RFI, the selected platform must align with the university’s mission of supporting student success, workforce readiness and institutional agility. Vendors are asked to describe how their systems would reduce manual bottlenecks, streamline decision-making and support initiatives such as four-year graduation, proactive advising and integration with workforce pipelines.

Responses should include:
  • A multiyear road map with costs, timelines, staffing requirements and measurable benchmarks
  • Strategies for stakeholder engagement and user adoption
  • Evidence of success in similar higher education environments
  • Approaches to implementation and change management
  • Use of AI tools such as generative and predictive models for student and business support
Texas Southern has set an enrollment goal of 10,000 students by 2025 and 15,000 by 2030. The RFI stresses that TSU is not merely seeking a software product, but a strategic partner to help the university evolve into a more agile, data-driven institution.

More detailed information about RFI No. 717-26-704, including all submission requirements and requests, can be found online. Submissions are due by 1 p.m. Oct. 9, with vendor questions accepted by the point of contact, Greg Williams, until 12 p.m. Sept. 25.
