
The committee, which includes both public and private industry technology professionals, identifies strategic goals for the state to consider in its tech-related decisions over a five-year period.
Zhou, who has served Texas Tech as CIO and vice president for the past year, will join the advisory committee for the 2026-2030 period.
Zhou previously served as CIO and senior vice president at The New School, a private research university in New York City, for five years. During his tenure, Zhou received numerous awards for his initiatives, including the CIO 100 Award, the Reimagine Education Awards Gold Prize and a FutureEdge 50 award.
